GCE Group returns to Priargunsk uranium enterprise

GCE Group and OJSC “Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Works (PMCW) have prolonged the cooperation on industrial safety at the enterprise up to the end of 2011.

Presently the GCE Group experts on technical diagnostics have started conducting the diagnostics on the technical status and the operational conditions of 20 installations of mining equipment (including excavators and lift systems) and seven mine shafts.

Uranium mining in Priargune is mostly carried out by underground mining. It is noted that for the past 3 years PMCW A has invested over 850 million roubles. ($ 26 million) for technical re-equipping of mines and for the purchase of new equipment.

The PMCW is located in the Siberian federal district and is a subsidiary of the Uranium Holding “Atomredmetzoloto” and provides up to 80% of the uranium production in Russia and about 7% of the world.

In 2010 the experts from GCE Group has given positive conclusions on the survey conducted on the  buildings and structures of the enterprise, including the pit head buildings, the TPP and the hydro metallurgy  plant. The expertise report was approved by Rostekhnadzor.
